Why are we upgrading our Online Banking?

We are upgrading to provide the latest in technology, security, and reliability. Some of the improved benefits you will receive include:

  • Increased security with enhanced fraud protection tools and multi-factor authentication
  • Account accessibility when you need it and on your schedule
  • Seamless support and better compatibility across browsers and devices, including Apple Watch®
  • Enhanced features with new financial tools including external account linking
  • Quick access to your most important data with improved search capabilities

When will the upgrades occur?

The launch date for the upgrade is October 25, 2022.

What do I need to do to prepare?

  • Prior to October 20, 2022 we ask that you review and update your contact information (your home phone, cell phone and email address) within online banking, or by contracting your branch location at 888-440-7774.
  • Online Banking and Mobile Banking for both Personal and Business accounts, as well as Quicken and QuickBooks will not be available after 3:00 pm CT on Friday, October 21, 2022, until our launch date. Previously scheduled payments and/or scheduled ACH originations will continue to be processed; however, new payments cannot be scheduled during this time and until launch.
  • Bill Pay access will not be available after 3:00 pm CT on Friday, October 21, 2022, until our launch date. Recurring or scheduled Bill Pay transactions will continue, to be processed and moved over to the new system automatically. However, new payments cannot be scheduled during this time and until launch.
  • Quicken and QuickBooks Users:
    • Access to the Quicken and QuickBooks interfaces will not be available from October 21, 2022 from 3 pm CT until launch.
    • A data file backup and a final transaction download should be completed by 3 pm CT October 21, 2022. Please make sure to complete the final download before this date since transaction history might not be available after the upgrade.
  • To implement Card Controls during the transition, we encourage you to install the CardValet App following the instructions below.
    • Download the free CardValet app to your smartphone by visiting the Apple® or Google Play™ app store
    • Select New User
    • Enter the card number and select Continue (you may also use the device camera to scan the card number)
    • Enter the CVV2 and the address associated with the card, then click Next
    • Enter the Last 4 digits of the Primary card holder’s SSN, then click Continue
    • Review and Accept the Terms and Conditions
    • Review and Accept the Privacy Policy
    • Enter your email address and create a password
    • Registration is complete
    • Now your cards are available for use via the CardValet app

When can I log in to the new Online Banking platform?

We ask that you log in after 8:00 am CT on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 to confirm you are able to view your accounts, your scheduled transfers, and that you are able to access Bill Pay if you are a Bill Pay user.

Mobile Banking users must download our new app (available at the Apple® or Google Play™ app stores) and delete/uninstall our old Mobile Banking app.

What do I need to do to log on?

  • Log into your online or mobile banking by visiting bankmidsouth.com.
    • Your Login ID and password will be the same as your current Login ID and password for online or mobile banking.
  • After you input your Login ID and password, you will be prompted to authenticate your account with a secure access code through email, text message, or an automated telephone call option of your choice.
  • Once you receive the secure access code, enter the code and click “Submit.”
    • Your email access code will be sent from [email protected]; your text message access code will be from 86434.
  • If you are using a private computer, you may select “Register” device and you will not be prompted for a secure access code with each login.
  • During the first login, you will be prompted to change your password. You may change your password back to the original password if you prefer.
  • Next, you will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions and you’ll be ready to go.

What do I need to do after I log on?

  • Login to the new Online Banking after the launch date and verify any scheduled transactions that you have setup are in place, including:
    • Recurring payments
    • ACH originations
    • Bill Pay transactions
  • Quicken and QuickBooks Users:
    • You must complete the deactivation and reactivation of your Online Banking connection to ensure your current Quicken or QuickBooks accounts are connected to the new Online Banking platform.

  • Security and Account Alerts (Optional)
    • Edit the delivery preferences, add mobile phone number
    • Review Alerts settings and add Customer Alerts if desired
    • The SMS short-code for the new system is 86434 – you may add this to your contacts
  • Text Banking (Optional)
    • If you plan on enrolling in Text Banking you will need to add short code 226563 to your contacts as MidSouth Bank Text Banking

What if I use QuickBooks, Quicken, or Mint?

This upgrade will require that you make changes to your QuickBooks or Quicken software, so please take action to ensure a smooth transition.

The conversion instructions reference two Action Dates. Please use the dates provided below:

1st Action Date: October 21, 2022 before 3pm CST
A data file backup and a final transaction download should be completed by this date. Please make sure to complete the final download before this date since transaction history might not be available after the upgrade.

2nd Action Date: October 25, 2022 after 8am CST
This is the action date for the remaining steps on the conversion instructions. You will complete the deactivate/reactivate of your online banking connection to ensure that you get your current Quicken or QuickBooks accounts set up with the new connection.

Intuit aggregation services may be interrupted for up to 5 business days. Users are encouraged to download a QFX/QBO file during this outage. The following services may not work during the outage:

  • Quicken Win/Mac Express Web Connect
  • QuickBooks Online Express Web Connect
  • Mint

Please carefully review your downloaded transactions after completing the migration instructions to ensure no transactions were duplicated or missed on the register.

What should I do or know if I am a Business Online Banking customer?

Our Business Online Banking customers were invited to attend an online webinar aimed at educating you on the exciting changes taking place. This Business Online Banking webinar explained how our upgraded platform will offer you a more productive online experience with increased security. We understand many of you may not have been able to attend, and recorded the webinar for your viewing reference. We want to ensure you and your business are prepared for the launch.

How do I download the new Mobile Banking app?

The new MidSouth Bank Mobile app is available for download in the Apple® or Google Play™ app store. Search for “MidSouth Bank Mobile” and look for the white icon with the blue letters for “MidSouth Bank,” or use the links below.

How do I access debit card controls in the new Mobile Banking app?

Integrated card controls will be available soon in the new Mobile Banking app, however you may continue to use the CardValet app for card management and alerts. If you are not currently enrolled in CardValet, please use the CardValet Instructions to get enrolled.

What happened to my Secure Alerts?

The Secure Alerts you previously set up for online and mobile banking did not carry over with the upgrade. Our upgraded system offers additional alert options, and they are easy to set up. To set up new alerts, select “Settings then “Alerts Settings.” Security Alerts appear as the default. Click “+ New Alert” to create Account Alerts, History Alerts, and/or Online Transaction Alerts. By default, alerts are set to go to your email address, to change this option select “Edit Delivery Preferences” under the Security Alerts heading. You must agree to the terms and conditions to receive SMS Text alerts on a mobile phone. Please note that Security Alerts and Online Transaction Alerts are sent immediately, however History Alerts are sent daily at 6am CST.
