  • You’ll be receiving a new contactless card with the Visa logo. This will replace your current card.
  • There’s no cost associated with this change.

What’s Changing?

  • Your card number, expiration date, and PIN.
  • You’ll need to update this information with any merchants, billers or other service providers that have it saved.
  • You should also add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app.

Activate Your New Card

Once received, your new MidSouth Bank contactless debit card is ready for activation. This card replaces your current card, which will be deactivated on 05/15/2023. After 05/15/2023, your current card will no longer work, but all you need to do is:

  1. Activate your new card by calling 1-800-992-3808 and follow the steps provided.
  2. Destroy and discard your current card immediately for security purposes.
  3. Update your payment and billing information with any merchants or service providers who have it saved. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where you shop regularly.
  4. Add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app.

WHY AM I RECEIVING A NEW CARD?

We are transitioning the MidSouth Bank debit card from Mastercard to a contactless Visa card which provides added card features and benefits.

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS OR FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NEW CARD?

Your account terms remain the same.

IS MY CARD NUMBER CHANGING?

Yes, your new card comes with a new card number, expiration date and security code. Please update the following once your new card arrives and is activated:

  • Information with merchants who regularly bill this account through automatic/recurring payments
  • Information with merchants who have your card on file, e.g., online shopping sites
  • Add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app

ARE MY ACCOUNT TERMS CHANGING?

No. Your account terms will all remain the same.

WILL MY PIN CHANGE?

Yes. You will need to set a PIN as part of activating the new card. This PIN may be a current PIN number or a new PIN number.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY NEW CONTACTLESS DEBIT CARD?

Your new MidSouth Bank contactless debit card should arrive around 04/24/2023. When it does, please be sure to activate it by calling 1-800-992-3808. You will need to update merchants who automatically bill your account with the new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where you shop regularly. MY NEW CARD HASN’T ARRIVED YET. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?

If today’s date is prior to 04/24/2023, there is no concern, and nothing you should do at this time. If today’s date is after 04/24/2023, please call us at 1-888-440-7774 for assistance.

WHEN CAN I START USING MY NEW CARD?

As soon as you activate it. To activate your new contactless debit card, call 1-800-992-3808 and follow the steps provided. Remember to update any merchants who automatically bill your account with your new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where you shop regularly. You should also add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app.

CAN I STILL USE MY CURRENT MIDSOUTH BANK DEBIT CARD?

Only until it is deactivated on 05/15/2023. Once you receive your new card, you should activate it immediately. Then destroy and discard your current card for security purposes.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY CURRENT CARD?

Once you’ve received and activated your new card, destroy, and discard your current card. Your current card is valid through 05/15/2023 giving you time to contact merchants who automatically bill your card and provide them with your new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where you shop regularly. You should also add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH AUTOMATIC/RECURRING BILL PAYMENTS ON MY CARD?

You’ll need to contact any merchants who regularly bill this account and provide your new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants you shop regularly among others. You should also add your new card to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets, and to CardValet®, our card management app.

I HAVE TWO OTHER USERS ON MY ACCOUNT. WILL THEY BE SENT NEW CARDS TOO?

All cardholders on your account will be sent a new card. They are required to activate the new card when they receive it and they need to update merchants who automatically bill their account with the new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include their wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where they shop regularly. WILL I HAVE TO ADD MY NEW CARD TO MY CARDVALET® APP?

Yes, you need to add your new card to CardValet®, our card management app, and add it to your Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ wallets. You will also need to update merchants who automatically bill your account with the new card number, expiration date, and security code. This may include your wireless, cable and internet providers, insurance companies, and online merchants where you shop regularly.
